Regional anesthesia in obstetrics – complications and how to overcome it

This article is devoted to problems of complications during spinal and epidural anesthesia in case of cesarean section, and epidural analgesia during labor: arterial hypotension, bradycardia, total spinal block, cardiac arrest, systemic toxicity caused by local anesthetics, postdural puncture headache. The analysis of the incidence of different types of complications is reported depending on the dose of anesthetic and regionarnoj anesthesia techniques. The recommendations for treatment and prevention of these complications are provided.
