Abstract

We describe two cases of trigeminal neuralgia successful treatment with the help of percutaneous radiofrequency rhizotomy of Gasser's ganglion. In one case it was the maxillary branch of the trigeminal nerve, in another case – the mandibular branch. The attention is focused on the epidemiology, clinical signs and indication for manipulation. The procedure technique is reported in details. The complete examination of the patient allows the neurosurgeon to perform the minimally invasive surgery technically competent. The patient immediately feels positive effects. In both cases, within three weeks there was a complete refusing of anticonvulsants.
